2007
April 14-21, 2007: Kevin & Gaynor and baby Mimi, Salisbury, Wilts: The apartment is lovely. We had a very nice break.
May 3, 2007: Peter, Somerset. A relaxing few days in a comfortable flat. I wish you every success, Rosie and David.
May 19, 2007: Claudia & Matt, London SW8: We had a relaxing stay here. The apartment is great and we much enjoyed doing very little and eating and drinking too much at the local bars and restaurants. Look forward to coming back soon.
May 26, 2007: Rod & Rita & family, Kent. Very well equipped apartment, great restaurants and bars, a very relaxing holiday. Great beaches towards Gallipoli.
May 26-June 2, 2007: Hugh & family, Dorset. We have spent a lovely week in Torre San Giovanni. The flat is super with everything one needs. We are delighted to have seen this natural and relatively unspoilt part of Puglia.
June 24-30, 2007: Joanna, Petritoli, Le Marche, Italy. A great apartment with plenty of outside space in which to relax with a glass of wine. Six relaxing days exploring Torre San Giovanni. Particular favourites include Santiago beach bar - great music, excellent service and a beautiful setting. I really had a great time and met many wonderful locals - a wonderful experience.
June 24-30, 2007: Giordano & Catherine, Fermo, Italy: Amazing spot! Total relaxation.
June 30- July 14, 2007: Nick & Alison & family, Hampshire. We had a super holiday. The apartment and resort were spotlessly clean and the terrace gave space and safety for us all. We would recommend Casa Limone and Torre San Giovanni to others. We are going to miss our trips to the coffee shop and the Hyencos beach, and the lovely blue-green sea.
July 14-21, 2007: Richard & Gill and children Kyle and Zack, Dorset. Very clean and welcoming apartment, great to have so many facilities, particularly with children. Torre San Giovanni is a lovely place. We especially enjoyed not hearing other English voices. We also found the beaches to the south of the marina excellent. The boys enjoyed swimming to the islands there. The apartment makes a superb base and bolthole during the prime heat of the day. You can always find shade somewhere on the terrace. Like other visitors we found Giara Pizzeria very good. We’ve had a wonderful week and want to book for a fortnight next year.
August 4-18, 2007: Sarah, David, Tom & Lucy, Somerset. We have had an enjoyable and relaxing two weeks. Lecce was a fine old city with a great tourist train. The children enjoyed the water park at Gallipoli. Apart from that, have not been far. We also mainly went to the beaches south of the marina. There has been a lot happening at this time (fireworks, boat procession, etc) and it has been very busy - sometimes difficult to get seats on the popular beaches. I think you need to get there early. Ice-creams excellent!
August 18- September 1, 2007: Nicholas & family, Milan, Italy. Great time had by all. Daily usage of the beaches beyond the port - Hotel Hyencos beach - child-friendly. Fantastic trip to Gallipoli old town. Fresh cheeses at mozzarella shop near the Punto market - very tasty.
September 18-29, 2007: John & Lynne, Dorset. We had a very enjoyable stay. Accommodation very good. Nice area, friendly people and very relaxing. Beautiful endless sandy beaches, nice food and wonderful ice-creams.
2008
March 16-23, 2008: Philip & Sue, Gemma & Chris, of Fareham, Hants: The few people we met were very friendly and the local bars and restaurants that were open were very good. The apartment suited us well as a base for exploring the foot of Italy and we enjoyed exploring cities and the very varied coastline. Lecce, Otranto and Gallipoli are well worth visiting and so is the coast road to Santa Maria di Leuca.
April 12, 2008: Ann & Dominic, of Somerset: We had a very enjoyable holiday, very relaxing and good weather. Very friendly people - the food is fantastic and the ice-cream is wonderful and not to be missed.
May 24-31, 2008: Mandy & Richard, of Dorset: We really enjoyed coming at this time of year and watching the town prepare for the season. No crowds, little traffic, hot sun - great.
May 24-31, 2008: Nathan, Jody, Callum & Millie of Dorset: Loved the peace and quiet as the town slowly gears itself up for the season. The children adored the beach and we discovered the best pizzas in the world only 200 metres away at U Salentinu - well worth several visits! Very sad to be going home.
July 5-12, 2008: Alan, Mel, Katie, Jim, Fatima & Tom of Dorset: Fantastic weather, very friendly locals. Casa Limone has been a great base for us. Had some good times eating and drinking on the patio. Plenty of room and nice to treat yourselves to some air-con when needed. Go to the U Salentinu pizzeria or get a takeaway - they are THE best pizzas.
July 19-August 2: Richard, Gill & children, of Dorset: On returning for a second year we were delighted to find it as enjoyable as before. Again we found the local beaches fulfilled all our needs. Rock pooling during the early morning at the end of the road, snorkelling at the 'olive grove beach' near the tower (which provided excellent shade and 'conversations' with locals in the early evening) and Le Dune, easy parking all day on a gently shelving sandy beach - with toilets! U Salentinu provided many an excellent takeaway pizza. The local supermarkets are very good for everyday supplies. A return visit is inevitable!
August 2-9, 2008: Zena and family, Dorset: Lovely apartment, air-conditioning a blessing! Quiet residential area with a pleasant walk along the front in the evening. Very friendly locals, lovely beaches. All in all a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
August 23-30, 2008: Alison & family, Poole Dorset: What a wonderful, relaxing, sun-drenched week we have had. We love the ice cream, fresh fruit, veg and cheese. The pizzas at U Salentinu were delicious and SO cheap. We have enjoyed the beach, particularly snorkelling and rock-pooling. The apartment is bigger than expected which was fab as we could all enjoy the space. Thankful for the air-conditioning at times. Most of all, we loved the fact that everything was close to the apartment. We would love to come back again.
September 5-11, 2008: Gaynor, Kevin and Mimi, from Salisbury: Equally enjoyable as our first visit back in April 2007. Beautiful weather, lovely friendly people and superb food. Apartment is perfectly situated to head off to all the different beaches and eating places, and provided a perfect base for siestas.
2009
May 30 – June 13, 2009: Daniela and family, from Cheshire: What a fantastic fortnight! Otranto is a beautiful town and well worth the hour to get there. Torre Vado, on the way to S. Maria di Leuca, is the best beach we found – clear blues sea, sloping gently, perfect for the kids. All in all, a wonderful holiday.
June 20-27, 2009: Diana and Simon from Shaftesbury, Dorset: A fun week. Beautiful little sandy spot amongst the rocks at the end of the road. Astounding fish bought from harbour fish shop. Good fast walking along seafront past the tower on to the beach as far as the eye can see.
July 11-18, 2009: Tatu and family, Finland: Nice experience. Thanks!
July 25 – August 1, 2009: Hugh, Margaret and family, Glasgow: We had a lovely holiday with great food locally and fabulous weather.
October 3-10, 2009: Andy and Judy, Dorset: A fab week. Beautiful, interesting area full of hidden treasures, top of the list being the mosaic in Otranto – bellissimo!
